Registered Apprenticeship certificate.

Work setting:

Custom cabinet shop. Millwork shop. Commercial. Custom Work.

Tasks:

  • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components.
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics.

Area of specialization:

  • Cabinets.
  • Doors and door frames.
  • Millwork.

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

Attention to detail.

Weight handling:

Up to 45 kg (100 lbs).

Own tools/equipment:

  • Tools.
  • Steel-toed safety boots.
