An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a well-established and welcoming accountancy practice in Leigh on Sea.

The Role:

As Accounts Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting a diverse range of clients across multiple industries, ensuring their day-to-day financial records are maintained accurately and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing purchase, sales and nominal ledgers
  • Completing bank and nominal ledger reconciliations
  • Processing payroll and associated reporting
  • Supporting clients with their day-to-day bookkeeping requirements
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and resolving queries
  • Assisting with general administrative duties when required
  • Supporting the preparation of tax computations and P11Ds where appropriate
  • Building positive working relationships with clients and colleagues

This is a varied position that offers the opportunity to work across multiple clients and industries, ensuring no two days are ever quite the same.

What We're Looking For:

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
  • A strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
  • Experience completing reconciliations accurately and independently
  • Good working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A professional, reliable and proactive approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

Desirable Experience:

While not essential, experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

  • Preparing tax computations
  • Preparing P11Ds
  • Payroll administration
