Your tasks
Job Responsibilities: NLGV Driver Operative
- Drive and operate NLGV vehicles for street cleansing and environmental services
- Carry out manual street cleansing and related environmental duties
- Collect and remove waste, litter and other materials as required
- Operate vehicle-mounted equipment and other relevant machinery safely
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues
- Follow health and safety procedures and safe working practices
- Work as part of the Street Cleansing team to maintain clean and safe public areas
- Carry out manual handling and physical duties as required
- Follow work schedules and instructions from supervisors
- Maintain accurate records and report completed work or issues
- Provide a professional and courteous service to members of the public
- Work Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:00, as required
Requirements
Person Specification: NLGV Driver Operative
Essential: NLGV Driver Operative
- Full and valid driving licence suitable for the role
- Previous experience driving or operating larger vehicles is desirable
- Experience of manual work or street/environmental services
- Ability to carry out physically demanding and manual duties
- Ability to operate equipment safely and follow instructions
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Reliable, punctual and able to work to scheduled times
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
- Commitment to confidentiality and data protection
Desirable: NLGV Driver Operative
- Experience in street cleansing, waste collection, grounds maintenance or similar environmental services
- Experience operating NLGV or other specialist vehicles
- Data Protection Level 1 Training
