IMS specialist – mainframe environment within the financial sector

About the assignment

Our customer, an actor within the financial sector, is seeking an experienced IMS specialist for the operation, management, and further development of a business-critical mainframe environment. You will become part of a small specialist team and be responsible for the ongoing delivery of the IMS environment in a complex z/OS environment where stability, security, and availability are the focus.

Your responsibilities

Administer, configure, and optimize IMS and associated databases Analyze transaction performance and troubleshoot incidents Install, maintain, and support IMS system software Collaborate closely with specialists in adjacent technical areas such as MQ, DB2, and WebSphere/Liberty Contribute to ensuring stability, resilience, and availability in the delivery

Requirements

Solid practical experience in the administration, configuration, and optimization of IMS databases Several years of experience working in z/OS environments Experience in transaction management and performance analysis Good knowledge of TSO/ISPF Experience from large, complex, and mission-critical environments with high requirements for stability, resilience, and availability Very good communication skills in English

Meritorious

Knowledge of Swedish Experience with backup and recovery in IMS Understanding of how IMS transactions and databases interact with application code, for example COBOL Experience from banking or other highly regulated and security-critical environments
