Technical Lead

Platform Architecture & Technical Leadership

Define technical architecture, standards, principles and roadmap

• Lead core platform capabilities including authentication, SSO, role management, administration, workflows, notifications and shared components .

• Provide technical governance across delivery squads and establish architecture review processes.

Application Modernisation & Migration

• Lead technical assessment of existing applications and services.

• Develop migration strategies, architecture patterns and implementation plans.

• Guide application modernisation and backend service redesign.

• Ensure integration between platform services, migrated applications and external systems.

• Manage migration, cutover, data integrity and operational risks.

Software Engineering & Delivery

• Lead solution design, technical planning and development execution.

• Review solution designs, code, APIs and technical deliverables.

• Drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, observability and IaC .

• Troubleshoot complex technical and integration issues and improve platform reliability.

Cloud, Data & Integration

• Design secure, scalable, resilient and cost-effective cloud-native solutions .

• Define API, integration, event-driven architecture and data exchange patterns.

• Oversee infrastructure, environments, deployment pipelines and monitoring.

• Support data/AI teams for analytics, AI services, automation and reporting.

• Ensure cybersecurity, governance and data management compliance.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

• Translate user needs into technical solutions with product managers and service designers.

• Communicate technical options, trade-offs and delivery implications to stakeholders.

• Mentor engineers and strengthen technical capabilities across squads.

• Coordinate with vendors, consultants and implementation partners.

• Support resource planning, technical staffing and delivery governance.

Requirements

Experience

• Software engineering, solution architecture or platform development.

• Experience leading enterprise-scale digital platforms or mission-critical systems.

• Experience in application modernisation, migration and integration programmes.

• Strong experience delivering cloud-native solutions in Agile environments .

• Public sector/enterprise platform experience is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Enterprise architecture and distributed systems.

• Hands-on Azure experience.

• API-driven architectures and microservices.

• Authentication, identity management, RBAC and SSO .

• DevSecOps, CI/CD, monitoring, logging and observability.

• Data integration, analytics, workflow engines and AI-enabled applications are advantageous
