process engineer

For a leading, international player in the food industry in the region of Vlaams-Brabant, Randstad Professional is looking for a driven Process Engineer who, during a temporary assignment of 3 months, will take an innovative pilot plant to the next level.

As a Process Engineer, you play a key role in the startup and refinement of a recently installed pilot plant with a complex extruder installation. In this 3-month project basis (with the possibility of extension depending on the project results), you are directly responsible for testing, analyzing, and optimizing the process to achieve the desired end product.

• Testing and fine-tuning the entire extrusion process, from raw material dosing (powders) and industrial ovens to the end product.
• Accurately collecting, documenting, and analyzing process data using specific software and lab equipment.
• Systematically mapping the influence of different process parameters on product quality.
• Guaranteeing that the process runs fully in compliance with strict quality and food safety standards.
• Providing accurate data and findings to the team responsible for drafting the SOP's.
• Collaborating closely with the maintenance team for mechanical and electrical support.
• A completed bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, food technology, electromechanics, or an equivalent level of work and thinking.
• Demonstrable experience within a process-oriented environment in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
• Thorough knowledge of process technology and the ability to interpret complex data and convert it into process optimizations.
• A proactive start-up mentality, a hands-on attitude, and strong problem-solving skills.
• A methodical and analytical way of working, where you first think thoroughly about the impact of parameter changes on costly installations before implementing them.
• Excellent communication skills in English and/or French.
