Do you combine deep electrical expertise with strategic advisory skills to take next-generation propulsion systems in the wind energy sector to the next level?

As a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer, you do not act as manual labor, but as a technical beacon and sparring partner. You advise engineering teams on complex issues, establish standards, and ensure that electrical architectures comply with the strictest international standards and reliability requirements.

  • Standardization & specification: drafting and refining electrical product specifications (cable selection, cable routes, enclosures, connectors, grounding, and EMC/shielding).
  • Component & instrumentation selection: defining and selecting motors, drives, and both active and passive sensors (temperature, pressure, and level measurements) for new platforms.
  • Root cause analysis (8D) & field support: analyzing complex malfunctions, stray currents, and harmonic distortion, including coordinating and executing targeted measurement campaigns on test benches and wind turbines.
  • Compliance & certification: securing and validating dossiers according to standards such as CE, IEC (and where relevant UL/CSA).
  • Knowledge sharing & mentoring: guiding and coaching internal and international engineers to sustainably anchor the overarching electrical competency level.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, or an equivalent technical domain.
  • Extensive and seasoned experience with specifying industrial electrical systems, motor selections, cable calculations, and sensor integration. A background with multiple dynamic projects or diverse industrial environments is highly valued.
  • Sound practical and theoretical knowledge of industrial low-voltage installations and relevant standards (including IEC standards for machinery, grid quality, and wind systems); affinity with medium voltage is a plus.
  • Experience with grounding, equipotential bonding, EMC, and interpreting/resolving harmonic disturbances.
  • Familiar with measurement and analysis equipment (such as network analyzers/Fluke, grounding testers, and multimeters) and converting data into structural solutions.
  • Proficient in working with CAD environments for wiring diagrams and cable routing (such as AutoCAD and Creo).
  • Fluent command of English in speech and writing; knowledge of Dutch and/or German is a strong asset.
  • Possession of a Category B driver's license and willingness to frequently alternate between regional R&D and production sites in Flanders (Limburg/Antwerp), supplemented by occasional travel (approx. 10%) for measurements and field interventions.
  • Valid certifications for BA5 and onshore turbine access (GWO: at least Working at Heights and First Aid) or willingness to renew/obtain these in the short term.
