Manufacturing Process Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer to support our precision component lines. You will bridge the gap between initial concept and steady-state mass production, focusing on process stability, cycle time reduction, and repeatable quality. If you enjoy diagnosing floor-level bottlenecks, building robust tooling setups, and running Kaizen or root-cause projects, this role is a great fit.

What You Will Do

• Translate new product designs into reliable, scalable floor processes and standard operating procedures.

• Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Quality and Production to squash recurring defects and close out customer-reported quality issues.

• Review incoming RFQs alongside the sales and quoting teams to provide realistic cycle times, tooling costs, and manufacturability feedback.

• Own the First Article Inspection (FAI) lifecycle, from initial fixture design to debug runs and final sign-off.

• Cut line scrap and downtime using structured tools like PFMEA, 5S, and standard Lean toolkits.

• Support line technicians with practical, day-to-day troubleshooting and build their technical capabilities.
• Source, evaluate, and qualify incoming production machinery, custom fixtures, and replacement tooling.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Optical Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent technical discipline.

• 2+ years of process engineering experience in a high-mix or precision manufacturing setting (experience with glass, lenses, or tight-tolerance mechanical parts is a definite plus).

• Comfortable reading complex technical prints with a solid grasp of GD&T symbols and tolerances.

• Practical experience applying statistical methods (such as DoE, process capability indices, or ANOVA) to stabilize shaky processes.

• Hands-on familiarity with ISO quality standards and working in ERP environments like SAP.
