We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to support autistic pupils within a dedicated SEN Unit in a supportive secondary school setting in Rivington, Bolton (BL6 7RU). This is a full-time, long-term opportunity to make a real difference in young people's educational journeys, with strong potential to secure a permanent contract. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to pupils with high complex needs, working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and specialist support staff to implement individualized learning strategies and support plans. Responsibilities Preparation of resources and activities for 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs and EHCP targets.
Collaborate with classroom teachers / SENCO to organise appropriate activities and structured routines.
Liaise with other professionals such as Teachers, TAs, and specialist support staff.
Work closely with other LSAs and support staff within the SEN Unit.
Work with small groups and with pupils on a one-to-one basis.
Monitor and track the development of the pupils in question, supporting personal development, emotional regulation, and confidence.
Essential Requirements Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Experience working with young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours and complex needs.
Ability to engage with and build strong rapport with young people.
Be creative, proactive, and flexible in your supporting style.
Deep understanding of SEN and learning difficulties.
