Occupational Health Advisor

The Port Talbot works are undergoing historical development in the form of 'Project Invictus' and the need for an experienced OH Advisor on an initial 24 month basis is required. The successful applicant will be an approachable, proactive individual with 5+ years experience delivering an exceptional Occupational Health service On this occasion, only applicants with full Right To Work in the UK already in place can be considered

Role: Occupational Health Nurse Location: Tata Steel, Port Talbot, Neath, Swansea, SA13 2NG Rate: £17.45ph (annual salary of £33,120) Contract length: 24 months Shift Patterns: 36.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri. (Mon-Thu 08:30-16:45 and Fri 08:30-15:45) Start: ASAP, pending the successful completion of a medical which requires a drug and alcohol test

Responsibilities: Providing comprehensive support to TATA Steel employees and Contractors in relation to Occupational Health matters Organising and delivering health surveillance to the business as per statutory requirements, guidance and company policy Conducting pre placement and safety critical medicals Carrying out due cause testing and routine screening Advising Line Managers and HR in the position of subject matter excerpt Assessing individuals for fitness to work following long term absence Supporting with rehabilitation programmes Referring case load as required to external health professionals Organising and delivering health promotion campaigns Evaluating patients within the company in the event of illness or accident Being on hand to provide emergency first aid treatment Maintaining the Occupational Health facility Following GDPR and patient confidentiality at all times Promoting the following of UK Health and safety legislation at all times Essential requirements: Proven experience within an Occupational Health setting (5+years) Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health Registered General Nurse (desirable) Driving Licence and access to own vehicle (due to the nature of the works) Previous experience managing high levels of sickness and return to work support Previous experience managing a caseload of referrals Excellent interpersonal skill Strong verbal and written communication Profound knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation within an Industrial Environment (advantage) Ability to liaise with all levels of stakeholder Benefits: Advice and editing on your current CV Dedicated team throughout your journey within the role Paid holiday of 35 days per annum, including Bank Holidays Exclusive online services including restaurant and retail discounts Chance to receive £300* for referring a friend Opportunity for progression into permanent roles Does this role sound interesting?
