Now there is an opportunity for a leading and broad role as a Senior Development Engineer Mechanics at CG Drives & Automation in Helsingborg. Your role – broad, practical, and unifying. Since we are a smaller mechanics team locally, we offer a broad role for you who enjoys being operational and is practically minded. Your main task is the new development and adaptation of complete power electronics modules up to 1,000 V and 5,000 A. You will be the unifying force for the mechanical design. As detailed design is done both with internal resources and with technical consultants, it is your task to lead, train, and coordinate these consultants, as well as be responsible for tools, processes, and product knowledge. You will also work closely with our purchasing and production departments to build and evaluate prototypes, which means you will also spend a considerable amount of time in our workshop and in the test lab. The role includes a handful of trips per year, primarily to our office in Germany or to test labs in Sweden and Denmark.

Your responsibilities:

Electromechanical system design and system integration of power electronics. Collaborate with our global supply chain in both Sweden as well as Europe and Asia. Lead technical consultants and be responsible for the whole in the mechanics projects. Be highly involved in the development of rapid prototyping and production technology issues.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

Education & Experience: At least a Bachelor's degree (BSc) in mechanical engineering as well as at least 10 years of relevant professional experience. You have experience in mechanical design of electronic or power electronic products. Technical systems: In-depth knowledge and experience of 3D CAD systems, specifically SolidWorks, together with integrated PDM and PLM systems. You also have competence in thermodynamic simulation tools. Power electronics & Electrical safety: Understanding of high current technology and knowledge of power electronic components (e.g., IGBTs, power inductors, and capacitors). You also have good knowledge of electrical safety requirements and standards (IEC and UL). Thermal & Mechanical design: Competence in thermal management technology (air and water cooling) as well as knowledge of design and testing for vibrations and mechanical stresses. Testing & Prototyping: Experience of practical electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing. You also have experience in general mechanical design, material knowledge, and manufacturing methods as well as "Rapid prototyping" (quickly producing prototypes). Production implementation (NPI): Competence in New Product Introduction, which means introducing products into manufacturing, assembly, testing, and the supply chain. Supplier contacts: Experience of working and collaborating with subcontractors in a global supply chain (preferably with actors in both Europe and Asia). Languages: Unhindered knowledge of English in speech and writing.
