Industrial Instrumentalist - Instrumentation Specialist Technician
Job Description
Corporación RAMPCO ICM, C.A., a company dedicated to the execution of EPC projects, maintenance, and rehabilitation of industrial facilities, is looking for an Industrial Instrumentalist / Instrumentation Specialist Technician to participate in the rehabilitation, recovery, and commissioning of a petrochemical plant. This position has a particular technical characteristic: due to the existing technology and configuration of the plant, a significant part of the instrumentation equipment and systems corresponds to conventional, pneumatic, mechanical, and manual operation technology. For this reason, we are looking for a professional with practical field experience, capable of working directly with existing instruments, valves, actuators, tubing, and pneumatic systems, performing fault diagnosis, and participating in their recovery and commissioning.
Main Responsibilities
- Execute inspection, maintenance, repair, calibration, adjustment, and commissioning activities of industrial instruments and instrumentation systems.
- Diagnose and correct faults in pneumatic instruments, transmitters, indicators, switches, controllers, regulators, positioners, and other conventional instrumentation devices.
- Perform inspection, maintenance, and functional testing of control valves, manual valves, pneumatic actuators, positioners, and associated accessories.
- Execute work on instrumentation tubing, impulse lines, manifolds, pneumatic connections, fittings, and accessories, verifying their correct installation, integrity, and operation.
- Perform calibration and verification of instruments associated with process variables such as pressure, temperature, level, and flow, using the corresponding equipment and procedures.
- Participate in the rehabilitation and recovery of existing instrumentation systems, identifying deteriorated, out-of-service, obsolete instruments, or those with deviations from available documentation.
- Interpret and use P&ID, Instrument Index, datasheets, loop diagrams, instrumentation drawings, and technical documentation, verifying the real conditions of the equipment in the field.
- Actively participate in precommissioning, commissioning, functional testing, startup, and stabilization activities of the facilities.
- Prepare technical reports of the activities performed, conditions found, identified faults, required materials, and pending works.
- Comply with Safety, Hygiene, Environment, and Operations (SIAHO/HSE) procedures, work permits, risk analysis, and other requirements established for work within petrochemical facilities.
Required Profile:
- Técnico Superior Universitario (TSU) in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electricity, Automation, Process Control, or a related technical career.
- Candidates with equivalent training and solid practical experience as industrial instrumentalists will also be considered.
- Verifiable experience in industrial instrumentation and field work.
- Experience in industrial, petrochemical, chemical, refinery, gas, power generation, or other process facilities.
- Practical experience with pneumatic and conventional instrumentation.
- Experience in maintenance and diagnosis of control valves and pneumatic actuators.
- Experience with tubing, impulse lines, manifolds, and instrumentation connections.
- Experience in calibration and functional testing of instruments.
