Procurement Assistant - Mechanical Engineer

About the opportunity We are looking for a young Mechanical Engineer, recently graduated or with little professional experience, with an interest in developing a medium and long-term career in the area of Procurement, Purchasing, and Supply Chain. The position offers the opportunity to work directly alongside the Procurement team, progressively participating in real processes of acquisition of materials, equipment, spare parts, and services for industrial projects. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to combine their Mechanical Engineering knowledge with learning Procurement, Supply Chain, supplier management, technical and commercial evaluation, documentation, and purchase tracking processes.

Main responsibilities

• Support the Procurement team in the management and tracking of purchase requests.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, datasheets, requisitions, and engineering documentation.
• Support in the preparation and review of RFQ (Request for Quotation) and requests for quotation.
• Request, organize, and compare supplier quotations.
• Perform technical and commercial comparisons of offers.
• Support in the identification and evaluation of national and international suppliers.
• Keep documentation related to suppliers, quotations, and purchase orders up to date.
• Follow up on purchase processes, deliveries, and dates committed by suppliers.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse, Planning, and other areas to clarify technical requirements.
• Support in the preparation of comparative charts and procurement reports.
• Participate in the tracking of critical materials and equipment for projects.
• Progressively develop knowledge regarding Supply Chain, Procurement, logistics, and supplier management.
• Eventually participate in field activities related to the identification, inspection, or reception of materials and equipment.

Required profile

• Recently graduated Mechanical Engineer or professional with a maximum of 1–2 years of experience.
• Genuine interest in developing a career in Procurement / Supply Chain.
• Basic knowledge of reading and interpreting drawings and technical documentation.
• Ability to understand technical specifications of equipment, materials, and mechanical components.
• Good command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Proficiency in English.
• Analytical capacity and attention to detail.
• Availability to learn and assume new responsibilities.
• Availability to eventually perform field activities and work in industrial environments.
