Your tasks

The main purpose of this role is to transport our care workers safely and efficiently between service users’ homes, helping them arrive at their scheduled care visits on time.

Our carers provide essential support to people in their own homes, so punctual and dependable transport is extremely important. You will work closely with our Care Coordinators and care staff throughout your shift and may be required to adapt to changes in the rota.

  • Safely transport care workers between service users’ homes across Hull and surrounding areas.
  • Follow the daily care rota and planned transport schedule provided by the Care Coordinator.
  • Help ensure carers arrive at their scheduled visits safely and on time.
  • Plan efficient routes between care visits, taking account of traffic and travel times.
  • Remain available during agreed working hours to transport carers between consecutive calls.
  • Communicate promptly with the Care Coordinator if traffic, delays or other issues could affect scheduled care visits.
  • Respond appropriately to reasonable changes to routes or the rota during the shift.
  • Maintain professional and respectful behaviour when transporting staff and when arriving at or waiting near service users’ homes.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding service users, their addresses, care arrangements and any information heard or seen while undertaking the role.
  • Keep the vehicle clean, safe and suitable for transporting staff.
  • Complete appropriate vehicle safety checks and report defects or concerns promptly.
  • Follow road traffic legislation, company policies and health and safety requirements at all times.
  • Report accidents, incidents, breakdowns or significant delays immediately.
