Construction Labourer (Grade 5) – Driver (3.5t)

About the Role

Vale of Glamorgan Council (Building Services) is seeking a reliable, hardworking Construction Labourer (Grade 5) to join our operational team based out of Quarry Road, Wenvoe.

This role provides critical support across multiple local maintenance and construction projects. You will work alongside skilled tradespeople on-site, assist with material handling, maintain high health and safety standards, and operate a 3.5-tonne flatbed vehicle to transport materials and clear sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Support: Assist skilled tradespeople with day-to-day general labouring tasks across various sites.
• Driving & Transport: Drive a 3.5t flatbed vehicle to deliver construction materials, clear sites, and move waste between locations.
• Materials Handling: Safely load, unload, and distribute building supplies and deliveries.
• Site Safety & Maintenance: Ensure work areas remain clean, tidy, and compliant with local authority health and safety guidelines.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (valid to drive 3.5t flatbed vehicles).
• Experience: Previous experience in general construction labouring or site support work.
• Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, physically fit for manual handling, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
• Safety Aware: Good understanding of site health and safety practices.
