Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer for a consulting assignment at a large organization with an extensive Data & Analytics environment. The role is suitable for you who have solid experience with modern data platforms and want to work with large datasets, scalable pipelines, and advanced data modeling. The assignment starts in January 2027 and runs until June 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

About the assignment As a Senior Data Engineer, you will become an important part of the organization's Data & Analytics function and work on building robust, scalable, and high-quality data flows that enable analysis and data-driven decision-making. You will develop and maintain pipelines for the collection, storage, and processing of large and complex datasets. The role also includes advanced data modeling and transformation of data for reporting and further analysis. The technology environment includes, among others, GCP, BigQuery, dbt, Jinja SQL, Terraform, GitHub CI/CD, and Kafka. You will be given significant individual responsibility and are expected to contribute to best practices in code structure, data modeling, documentation, and sustainable data architecture.

Tasks In the role, you will, among other things:

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for collection, storage, and processing
• Work with Jinja SQL and dbt for transformation and modeling
• Develop and manage solutions in Google Cloud Platform
• Work with BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Dataflow, Cloud Run Services, Cloud Run Jobs, and Cloud Build
• Work with Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
• Develop and manage CI/CD flows in GitHub
• Work with event-driven data management with Kafka or an equivalent platform
• Optimize BigQuery and data pipelines based on performance and scalability
• Work with data warehousing and advanced data modeling
• Ensure data quality, performance, and availability
• Drive best practices in code structure, documentation, and data modeling
• Collaborate with the business, development teams, source system owners, as well as data and information architects

We are looking for you who have:

• Very good experience with Jinja SQL and dbt
• Very good experience with Terraform
• Good experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with BigQuery
• Experience with Cloud Functions
• Experience with Dataflow
• Experience with Cloud Run Services and Cloud Run Jobs
• Experience with Cloud Build
• Experience with GitHub CI/CD
• Experience with Kafka or an equivalent event-streaming platform
• Solid understanding of Data Warehousing and data modeling, for example according to Kimball
• Experience in optimizing BigQuery and data pipelines
• Fluent English in speech and writing
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for a technical sub-area

For the requested competence level, approximately 4–8 years of consulting experience in the field is relevant, where you are confident in taking responsibility, driving your area independently, and, if necessary, leading a small group.

Meritorious It is meritorious if you have experience in:

• Python
• Platform administration and Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• AI-assisted development with, for example, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or equivalent tools
• Swedish at a fluent level in speech and writing
