UNIX L3 Production Support

Your tasks

Main Mission We are looking for a Production Engineer to ensure the availability, reliability and scalability of the mission-critical payment platforms (instant payments, SWIFT, cross-border).

This is a high-level productionsupport role, and the core of it is Unix. The person will not only monitorand escalate: they will set up high availability, configure load balancing,install and commission servers, and keep the platform up when something goeswrong, working at system level on Unix/Linux.

• Operate and support the paymentplatform at an advanced Unix/Linux system level, with strong shellscripting and automation
• Set up and maintain highavailability: clustering, failover, redundancy

• Configure and operate load balancing across application nodes, and validate behaviour under failure
• Install, configure and commission theservers and middleware that host the payment applications

• Keep the platform running throughincidents: isolate the faulty component, fail over, restore service, then findthe root cause
• Troubleshoot and resolve productionincidents (log analysis, performance tuning, process recovery) • Build, deployand orchestrate containers with Docker

• Maintain, configure and tune web andapplication servers (Apache, NGINX or equivalent)
• Streamline deployment with CI/CDpipelines, using XLDeploy and Nexus for artifact management

• Ensure application and systemmonitoring through Splunk or Dynatrace
• Analyse and resolve level 3 tickets onthe payment stream

• Proactively propose and implementcontinuous improvements: resilience, automation, incident reduction, SREpractices

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree inComputer Science, Engineering or a related field
• At least 3-6 years ofhands-on experience in production support of payment systems, DevOps orapplication operations (preferably in Payments, FinTech or Banking)

• Expert-levelUnix/Linux. This is the single most important requirement. Real systemadministration, tuning and troubleshooting, with advanced shell scripting, notcommand-line familiarity
• Strong hands-on Docker. Building, deployingand debugging containers in production, evidenced at role level and not only ina skills list

• Hands-on experience with high availability and loadbalancing in a production environment: clustering, failover, redundancy,and what happens when a node is lost
• Solid database skills: SQL, queryinvestigation and performance troubleshooting

• Good grasp of web serverarchitectures and microservices concepts
• Advantageous: VOLPAY, payments rails(instant payments, ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX), Jenkins, Ansible, GitLab CI, Kafka,RabbitMQ, REST APIs

• Curious and hands-on. Wants tounderstand how the platform works, not just follow a runbook
• Approachableand collaborative. Works daily with the payments production team inSwitzerland, so clear, direct communication across sites is essential

• Adaptable. Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where tooling and practices evolve

•Analytical mindset, strong problem-solving, and ownership of productionoutcomes

• Willingness to build expertise in Managed Payments operations
