Fitting & Welding Foreman – 2nd Shift Location: York, PA Job Type: Direct Hire Shift: 2nd Shift Starting Pay: $39.00/hour — higher depending on experience 2nd Shift Differential: Additional $3.00/hour MUST HAVE: Structural steel fabrication industry experience Leadership experience overseeing welders and fitters We are seeking an experienced Fitting & Welding Foreman to lead second-shift operations in a structural steel fabrication shop. This is a hands-on supervisory position responsible for coordinating personnel, production activities, materials, equipment, quality, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities Lead and support welders, fitters, and other shop personnel throughout the shift.

Coordinate daily fabrication activities, staffing, materials, equipment, and workflow.

Monitor production and fabrication schedules and adjust priorities when needed.

Help coordinate deliveries and ensure work is completed according to project timelines.

Establish and maintain consistent fabrication procedures and shop practices.

Monitor finished work and maintain required quality-control standards.

Review production methods and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and employee performance.

Communicate with project management, purchasing, logistics, other departments, and fabrication locations regarding schedules, materials, quality, and product status.

Ensure equipment, tools, facilities, and materials are properly maintained and available.

Monitor inventory needs and coordinate with management and purchasing.

Maintain productive relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Balance workloads across the shop and communicate staffing or production concerns to management.

Determine staffing and work-hour needs to meet delivery requirements, including overtime and Saturdays when necessary.

Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and quality expectations.

Required Qualifications Structural steel fabrication industry experience — required.

Leadership experience overseeing welders and fitters — required.

Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes.

Previous supervisory, foreman, or shop leadership experience.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong spoken and written English skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite .

Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Ability to organize people, materials, schedules, and multiple production priorities.

Ability to work 2nd shift, overtime, and Saturdays as needed .

Strong commitment to safety, quality, and production standards.
