Structural Steel Production Supervisor Location: Cocoa Beach, FL Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Starting Pay: From $30.00 per hour (higher compensation may be available based on experience) Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations within a structural steel fabrication shop. This hands-on leadership role focuses on coordinating production activities, supporting shop employees, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring work is completed safely and on schedule. The ideal candidate has experience leading fabrication teams, organizing workflow, and solving production challenges in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Production Leadership

Coordinate daily fabrication activities to support production schedules and delivery commitments.

Lead welders, fitters, and fabrication personnel throughout each shift.

Assign work based on production priorities and available resources.

Monitor workflow and adjust assignments to maintain productivity.

Communicate production updates, schedule changes, and operational concerns to shop leadership.

Fabrication Support

Provide technical guidance for fit-up, layout, welding, and blueprint interpretation.

Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and help resolve production issues.

Work with maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime and support continuous operations.

Assist with additional shop leadership responsibilities as needed.

Quality & Safety

Reinforce established safety procedures and manufacturing standards.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Partner with Quality Control to verify completed work meets required specifications.

Assist with inspections, dimensional verification, and production documentation.

Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development of fabrication team members.

Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience leading or supervising structural steel fabrication teams.

Strong experience with structural steel fabrication, welding, fit-up, and layout.

Experience operating or working with CNC fabrication equipment and shop machinery.

Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.

Understanding of manufacturing safety practices, quality requirements, and production processes.

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work overtime, weekends, or flexible schedules when production demands require.

Preferred Qualifications Experience using Tekla EPM/GO .
