Overhead Crane Operator / Material Handler Location: Cocoa Beach, FL Shift: 2nd Shift Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Starting Pay: $22/hour + $3/hour night differential, with higher pay available based on experience Position Overview We are seeking a versatile Overhead Crane Operator / Material Handler to support material movement and production activities in an industrial environment. This role works between the yard and shop, handling structural steel and assisting with a variety of equipment and material-handling tasks.

Responsibilities Move, stage, and organize structural steel and other materials throughout the shop and yard.

Operate overhead cranes to safely position and transport steel.

Use forklifts and Pettibone/telehandler equipment for material movement.

Assist with trailer jockeying and general yard organization.

Load and unload trailers and properly stage incoming materials.

Skid materials and prepare steel and other items for shipment.

Operate production equipment or machinery when needed.

Clean parts and materials to keep them ready for production.

Assist with inventory control and tracking of materials and supplies.

Follow all equipment operating procedures and workplace safety requirements.

Provide material-handling support to other departments to keep production moving.

Maintain reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications Previous overhead crane operating experience .

Experience operating Pettibone/telehandler equipment .

Material handling or warehouse experience preferred.

Some experience working with structural steel .

Ability to safely operate forklifts and other industrial equipment.

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing assignments.

Ability to lift and move heavy materials as required.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.

Manufacturing or industrial experience is a plus.

Willingness to learn new equipment and take on different responsibilities.
