Overhead Crane Operator / Material Handler

Material Handler / Crane Operator Location: Cocoa Beach, FL Shift: 2nd Shift Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Starting Pay: From $22.00/hour + $3.00/hour Shift Differential (higher starting pay may be available based on experience) Position Overview We are seeking a versatile Material Handler to support daily operations in both the yard and production areas. This role involves safely moving structural steel materials, operating heavy equipment, assisting with shipping preparation, and providing support wherever needed. The ideal candidate is flexible, safety-focused, and comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities Move, handle, and stage materials throughout the shop and yard.

Operate overhead cranes to safely position structural steel.

Operate forklifts and Pettibone/telehandler equipment .

Jockey trailers and help maintain an organized yard.

Unload incoming trailers and properly stage materials.

Assist with skidding materials and preparing products for shipment.

Operate machinery as needed to support production.

Perform parts cleaning and help keep materials production-ready.

Assist with inventory tracking and material organization.

Follow all required safety procedures when operating equipment.

Provide support across departments as production needs change.

Maintain reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications Previous experience operating overhead cranes .

Experience with telehandler/Pettibone equipment .

Material handling or warehouse experience preferred.

Some experience working with structural steel .

Ability to safely operate forklifts and other industrial equipment.

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Ability to lift and move heavy materials as required.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Manufacturing or industrial experience is a plus.

Willingness to learn new equipment and take on varied responsibilities.
