Fitter/Fabricator

Position: Fitter/Fabricator Location/s: Ashland, VA Duration: 3 months contract to hire Shift: 1st Shift Schedule (offering work-life balance with Saturdays as needed) Pay Rate: Up to $25.00/Hour (Depending on experience) Benefits/Incentives: Insurance Offered (Medical, Dental, Vision, etc.)

Qualdoc is seeking experienced Flux Core Welders and Welder/Fitters for our client in Ashland, VA. This role will be responsible for welding heavy industrial structural steel equipment and components using shop drawings for fabrication. This position is a contract with the potential to go full-time based on performance and business needs.

Overtime!!!! 50-56 hours weekly!!

Key Responsibilities Fabricate and fit components according to shop drawings and specifications.

Perform high-quality Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) .

Read and interpret shop drawings and AWS weld symbols.

Produce welds that meet or exceed AWS D1.1 and D14.1 standards.

Pass a full-penetration vertical weld test and overhead fillet weld test .

Work safely in a heavy industrial environment.

Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.

Work 10-hour shifts and Saturdays as required.

Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Requirements Previous experience as a Fitter/Fabricator or in a similar industrial role.

Ability to read shop drawings and interpret welding symbols.

Experience with FCAW welding.

Ability to pass the required welding tests.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.

Reliable attendance and punctuality.
