Production Manager – Automotive Manufacturing (m/f/d) – Jülich
Your Tasks Overall responsibility for all production processes in the area of Automotive Manufacturing. Responsibility for production performance, quality, costs, delivery reliability, safety, and the overarching team management of the department. Development of comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly production plans. Efficient allocation of production resources to ensure timely order processing and stable production capacity. Establishment and optimization of standardized production processes within the production area. Implementation of the IATF 16949 quality management system, applicable ESD protection requirements, and relevant automotive industry standards. Continuous improvement of product yield and production stability. Cross-departmental coordination in resolving production deviations. Systematic analysis of series defects, production line downtimes, and quality deviations. Conducting root cause analyses as well as ensuring the implementation and completion of permanent corrective actions using 8D and PDCA methods. Full implementation of the Lean Production system throughout the entire production area. Steering targeted improvement initiatives in the areas of 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), continuous improvement, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), line balancing, cost reduction, and operational efficiency. Comprehensive coordination of multiple production lines and shift teams, including employee training, performance evaluations, personnel optimization, and the development of multicultural teams. Coordination with the Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Purchasing departments, as well as with customers, to ensure stable new product introductions, production ramps, and series production. Creation of monthly analyses of production KPIs and evaluation of existing production problems. Development of medium- and long-term plans for production optimization. Ensuring strict compliance with German labor law, occupational health and safety regulations, as well as corporate environmental management standards.
Your Profile Completed Bachelor's degree or higher academic degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. More than five years of professional experience in automotive electronics or in the production of automotive components. At least three years of management experience at the level of a Production Manager. Comprehensive knowledge of the entire series production cycle of automotive products. Experience in overall responsibility for a production area at a Tier-1 automotive supplier is a significant advantage. Very good knowledge of the IATF 16949 quality management system and common Lean Production methods. Sound skills in the analysis of production data and KPI management. Familiarity with SAP and MES systems. Ability to provide end-to-end control of all processes within a production area. Strong skills in high-level planning, problem-solving, and responding to acute situations in production operations. Proven experience in coordinating multinational teams. Strong leadership competence as well as very good communication and coordination skills. Fluent English skills for daily business communication, meetings, and customer presentations. German language skills at B2 level are an advantage. Careful, composed, and highly responsible way of working. Ability to withstand the pressure associated with overall responsibility for a complete production area.
