Head of Material Management (m/f/d) – Automotive – Jülich
Your Tasks Organization of the Material Management department as well as ensuring material preparation and planning of material areas according to production plans. Monitoring of order picking, material issue, and production-related material provision. Controlling the material supply of production lines to avoid the provision of incorrect, mixed, or missing parts, as well as to comply with the requirements for batch traceability in automotive production. Clarification of material-related problems, including non-conforming incoming materials, material shortages, and incorrectly issued materials. Coordination with the Quality and Purchasing departments to determine appropriate measures for handling material-related problems. Responsibility for the daily management of production-related storage areas, including space planning, implementation of 5S principles, material labeling, and batch management. Organization of regular inventories, analysis of the causes of inventory discrepancies, and control of appropriate improvement measures. Monitoring of slow-moving items, evaluation of order-related losses, and implementation of processes for the scrapping of materials with the aim of reducing inventory levels. Monitoring the administration of production orders and inventory accounting, as well as ensuring the correct and timely closing of production orders. Ensuring compliance with German labor law, applicable occupational health and safety regulations, and the environmental management standards of the plant.
Your Profile Completed vocational training with relevant professional further training or a Bachelor's degree in the field of Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a comparable field. At least three to five years of professional experience in material management, warehouse management, or production-related logistics within a manufacturing company. At least two years of experience in a leadership position. Good understanding of the automotive industry as well as the manufacturing processes of vehicles or vehicle components. Familiarity with the IATF 16949 quality management system. Practical experience with ERP systems in manufacturing companies. Experience with SAP is an advantage. Good knowledge of processes for material receipt and material issue, inventory, bill of materials management, and management of technical changes. Excellent planning and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to respond appropriately to unexpected operational situations. Experience in leading multicultural teams as well as strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills. Careful, calm, and responsible way of working as well as the ability to work reliably even under the pressure of the operational production environment. Fluent English skills for daily work, the coordination of meetings, and reporting to customers. German language skills at B2 level or higher are an advantage.
