Product Manager – Product Design (M/F)
About the company
Join an innovative, fast-growing company specializing in B2B SaaS intelligent mobility solutions, based in Rennes and composed of about forty employees. PYSAE develops software to make public transport more efficient and attractive. We support more than 100 clients, including major operators such as Transdev, Keolis, or RATP, and equip nearly 10,000 buses in mainland France, DOM-TOM, Italy, and Saudi Arabia.
Your tasks
Your Mission You will join the Product team to drive the creation of innovative solutions to make the lives of public transport network operators easier. From discovering field needs to monitoring deliveries with the technical team, you are the common thread between users, the business, and developers.
Our processes for conception, product design, specification, and development are undergoing a profound transformation, driven by the integration of AI, currently primarily Claude. This evolution has already significantly accelerated our velocity across several dimensions. We have a solid design system and Claude skills that allow the team to produce consistent interfaces, but they require maintenance, enrichment, and challenging by true design expertise. You will join a team that actively experiments with these new ways of working and expects its members to embrace them with curiosity and pragmatism.
Product Management
- Meet with clients and users to understand their problems in depth. Identify opportunities for improvement beyond explicit requests.
- Translate field insights into actionable specifications for the technical team. Work daily with developers to ensure the proper execution of ongoing topics. Define the vision, objectives, and success criteria for each topic.
- Take charge of the lifecycle of several product initiatives in parallel, from studying the go-to-market strategy and the discovery phase, to market launch.
- Arbitrate priorities with the rest of the team, in line with PYSAE's strategy.
- Act as the reference product interlocutor for your scope for both internal and external stakeholders.
Design & User Experience (30 to 50% of the position)
- Maintain and evolve our design system (components, principles, documentation) to guarantee consistency across all our applications.
- Sustain and improve Claude design skills, in connection with the team, so that PMs and front-end developers can autonomously produce high-quality interfaces.
- Design user journeys and workflows for new applications and redesigns, with particular attention to ergonomics.
- Review and challenge the interfaces produced by the team, ensuring consistency and quality standards.
- When time permits, conduct UX studies with users (interviews, usage tests, field observation).
Requirements
Your profile has a dual role: Product Manager and the team's Design specialist. You will devote between 30 and 50% of your time to guiding the evolution of our applications' user experience: you will manage the life of our design system, ensure the consistency and quality of our interfaces, and support the evolution of our applications' user journeys. The rest of your time will be dedicated to Product topics as the team's PM.
This position is intended for an autonomous and proactive person who enjoys seeking out problems where they are—with clients, in the field—as much as someone capable of translating them into clear product decisions and simple, effective interfaces.
- Fluent English; Italian is a plus.
- 4 to 8 years of cumulative experience in a product and/or design role. Profile and motivation matter more than years.
- Strong sensitivity to ergonomics, user workflows, and the quality and maintainability of interfaces, ideally with concrete achievements to share (design system, application redesign, complex journeys...).
- Comfortable in a B2B SaaS environment, with a good understanding of technical issues without necessarily coding.
- Experience in product launches or significant redesigns, ideally in a high-growth context.
- Comfortable seeking information directly in the field, with clients; experience in user research is a plus.
- Autonomous in organization, rigorous in follow-up, capable of managing several topics in parallel without losing focus.
- Adaptable: you know how to evolve your priorities without being destabilized. In an agile structure where roles are not fixed, you are happy to contribute beyond your scope (events, tender responses, innovation funding files).
- Curious, pedagogical, a good communicator with both technical and business interlocutors.
- Comfortable with AI as a daily work tool: open to experimenting with new AI-assisted practices (conception, design, specs, user research...); prior experience with these tools is a plus.
