General Accountant
Key Responsibilities
- Record and monitor all inventory-related transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and adjustments.
- Ensure accurate recording of inventory movements in the accounting/ERP system.
- Reconcile physical stock balances with system and accounting records.
- Review and verify warehouse documents, including receiving notes, issue notes, transfer documents, and returns.
- Conduct periodic stock counts and investigate any discrepancies between physical and system balances.
- Prepare inventory reconciliation reports and report discrepancies to the Finance Manager.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse and relevant departments to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Monitor inventory balances and identify unusual variances or discrepancies.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory accounts.
- Assist in preparing inventory-related financial reports and analysis.
- Ensure proper documentation and accounting treatment of inventory transactions.
- Maintain organized records of all inventory-related accounting documents.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Perform other accounting tasks as assigned by the direct manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in inventory accounting, warehouse accounting, or a similar accounting role, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing company.
- Previous experience dealing with inventory transactions and warehouse operations in a manufacturing/industrial environment is highly preferred.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and inventory accounting.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively with the Finance and Warehouse teams.
