Customer Service Executive
About the company
We are looking for a Senior Customer Service Executive to join a manufacturing company in Chelmsford. In this role you will play a key role in ensuring customers receive an outstanding service from order placement through to delivery. The position will involve working closely with internal departments and external customers to provide an excellent service and managing accounts effectively.
Your tasks
- Manage customer accounts, orders, returns and enquiries.
- Process and monitor customer orders throughout the full order lifecycle.
- Produce, analyse and distribute reports using Excel and internal systems.
- Support customer reviews, account management activities and customer meetings.
- Track performance metrics and assist with auditing.
- Set up and take part in customer reviews and meetings where required.
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics and Finance teams.
- Help identify and implement process improvements across customer service functions.
Requirements
You will need to have experience within a similar sector such as engineering or manufacturing due to the complexity of the orders and business processes.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven customer service and order management experience.
- Strong understanding of the complete customer order lifecycle.
- Strong Excel skills with experience producing and analysing reports.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience using ERP and CRM systems, ideally SAP or similar.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working within manufacturing, engineering or a similar industry.
- Strong team player who enjoys working across multiple departments.

- Starting salary circa £35,000
- Monday-Friday 08:30-17:00
