Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize queries identified by the PostgreSQL/Aurora DB Specialist.
- Perform tuning at the application code, ORM, and database interaction layers.
- Optimize Entity Framework / EF Core queries, including LINQ, tracking, eager/lazy loading, pagination, and connection handling.
- Validate performance improvements based on execution time, throughput, CPU, database load, and resource utilization.
- Analyze and optimize application performance to ensure fast response time, high availability, scalability, and efficient resource utilization.
- Identify and troubleshoot application performance bottlenecks across application logic, API, database, infrastructure, and network layers.
- Analyze and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, database transactions, indexing strategies, and execution plans.
- Conduct performance profiling and root-cause analysis using monitoring, logging, tracing, APM, and database performance tools.
- Implement application optimization techniques such as caching, asynchronous processing, connection pooling, batching, pagination, and efficient memory/resource management.
- Review application and database architecture to identify opportunities for performance improvement and scalability.
- Establish and monitor performance baselines, SLAs/SLOs, response-time targets, throughput, CPU, memory, database latency, and other key performance indicators.
- Design and execute load, stress, volume, and performance testing to validate system behavior under expected and peak workloads.
- Collaborate with Software Engineering, Database, DevOps, Infrastructure, and QA teams to resolve performance issues and improve end-to-end system efficiency.
- Continuously monitor production performance and proactively identify potential degradation before it impacts users or business operations.
- Document optimization findings, recommendations, implementation results, and performance improvements.
