Application Security Engineer Scope

Responsibilities :

1. Application Security & Architecture

• Understand application architecture, components, dependencies, integrations, and end-to-end workflows.
• Identify where security controls should be implemented within applications and supporting systems.
• Understand technical changes and their potential security impact.

1. Security Tools & Integration

• Evaluate and integrate third-party security packages, libraries, SDKs, and tools.
• Understand where and how security components should be installed, configured, and maintained.
• Troubleshoot integration and configuration issues.

1. Documentation & Change Tracking

• Maintain technical documentation for implementations, configurations, and application changes.
• Track package versions, dependencies, known issues, configuration changes, and technical decisions.
• Keep documentation accurate and up to date.

1. Stakeholder & Technical Support

• Proactively support and communicate with customers, partners, internal teams, and vendors on technical and security matters.
• Coordinate with vendors for technical assistance, troubleshooting, product updates, and issue resolution.
• Investigate technical issues and provide clear, timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Understand the product and its security capabilities in depth to address technical questions from customers and potential prospects.
• Explain application architecture, security controls, integrations, and technical capabilities clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements :

• Good understanding of application architecture, workflows, APIs, dependencies, and system integrations.
• Ability to integrate and maintain third-party security packages and tools.
• Familiarity with software development, Git, APIs, databases, and deployment environments.
• Able to troubleshoot technical issues and identify appropriate solutions or escalation paths.
• Able to produce clear technical documentation and maintain change records.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, partners, internal teams, and vendors.
• Able to understand products in depth and confidently address detailed technical and security questions from potential prospects.
• Proactive, responsible, resourceful, and willing to continuously learn.
