Client Overview Our client is an emerging premium sports academy and facility in South Jakarta, focused on delivering high-quality tennis coaching, sports facility management, junior development programs, and community sporting events. The academy is being developed as a premium sports and lifestyle destination for tennis enthusiasts, corporate executives, families, and high-performance athletes. Alongside its sporting programs, the academy is building a commercial ecosystem through tournaments, junior development initiatives, brand activations, and strategic partnerships. As the business enters an expansion phase, the company is looking to establish a strong sponsorship and commercial partnership platform by collaborating with corporate brands, lifestyle companies, media partners, and other relevant commercial stakeholders.

Job Role The Sponsorship Manager will be responsible for driving sponsorship acquisition, corporate partnerships, and commercial revenue development for the sports academy. Reporting directly to the Owner, this is a strategic yet hands-on role responsible for building the sponsorship function from the ground up. The position will identify potential sponsors, develop commercially compelling partnership packages, lead brand pitching and negotiations, and manage partnerships through activation, performance reporting, and renewal. The ideal candidate is commercially driven, entrepreneurial, and experienced in selling sponsorships, corporate partnerships, media opportunities, or event-based commercial packages. The candidate should be comfortable engaging directly with senior marketing decision-makers and building long-term relationships with corporate brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sponsorship and commercial partnership strategies aligned with the academy's revenue targets and growth plans.
  • Identify, research, and prioritize high-potential corporate sponsors, consumer brands, lifestyle companies, media partners, and relevant commercial organizations.
  • Build and manage an active sponsorship sales pipeline from prospecting and cold outreach through pitching, negotiation, deal closure, and renewal.
  • Develop customized sponsorship packages, commercial proposals, pitch decks, and partnership presentations based on brand objectives and academy assets.
  • Structure sponsorship packages that clearly communicate brand exposure, audience reach, activation opportunities, and potential return on investment.
  • Conduct direct sales presentations and negotiations with C-level executives, marketing directors, brand managers, and other senior decision-makers.
  • Negotiate sponsorship fees, commercial terms, asset deliverables, activation requirements, and partnership agreements.
  • Manage the full sponsorship lifecycle, including prospecting, pitching, contracting, activation, account management, performance reporting, and renewal.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate sponsors and serve as the primary commercial contact throughout partnership execution.
  • Coordinate with internal operations and event teams to ensure all contracted sponsorship benefits are delivered accurately and on schedule.
  • Oversee sponsor activation activities, including branding, VIP experiences, digital exposure, product sampling, tournament integration, and other agreed deliverables.
  • Monitor sponsorship and event performance and prepare post-event reports highlighting campaign results, brand exposure, audience engagement, and commercial outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell, expand, and renew existing partnerships based on sponsor performance and business objectives.
  • Continuously develop new commercial opportunities through tournaments, junior programs, facility branding, community events, and other academy assets.
  • Provide regular pipeline, revenue, partnership, and market development updates directly to the Owner.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of corporate marketing teams, brand managers, advertising agencies, sports marketing agencies, and potential commercial partners.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Event Management, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in sponsorship acquisition, corporate partnerships, business development, media sales, event commercialization, or a related commercial function.
  • At least 3 years of experience operating in a strategic and hands-on commercial capacity.
  • Proven track record of securing revenue-generating sponsorships or corporate partnerships.
  • Experience within sports facilities, sports entertainment, lifestyle, hospitality, media agencies, sports marketing, or large-scale event management is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sponsorship sales, commercial partnership structures, brand activation, and event-based monetization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop compelling pitch decks, commercial packages, sponsorship proposals, and asset valuation models.
  • Strong ability to communicate brand value, audience demographics, exposure opportunities, and potential ROI to prospective sponsors.
  • Proven ability to negotiate commercial terms and close high-value partnership deals.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems and structured sales pipeline management.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and highly proactive mindset, with the ability to build a commercial function from the ground up.
  • Comfortable working directly with business owners and senior executives toward ambitious revenue targets.
  • Strong commercial awareness, persistence, and ability to independently identify and convert new business opportunities.
