Job Role The Senior Visual Merchandiser will be responsible for maintaining and elevating visual brand standards, window displays, and in-store presentation across the company's luxury boutique network. Reporting to the Head of Retail, this role will translate global and regional Visual Merchandising (VM) guidelines into high-quality local execution while adapting displays to individual store layouts, inventory availability, and commercial priorities. The ideal candidate combines strong creative and spatial design capabilities with practical retail execution, vendor management, project coordination, and a strong understanding of luxury brand presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and execute seasonal Visual Merchandising guidelines and global/regional VM directions across all assigned boutiques.
- Develop and distribute VM rotation plans, display instructions, and visual guidelines to ensure consistent brand presentation across stores.
- Adapt display layouts to individual store architecture, available inventory, local customer behavior, and sales trends while maintaining brand standards.
- Plan and coordinate seasonal window displays, in-store installations, pop-ups, and special brand activations.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for the sourcing, production, fabrication, delivery, and installation of window displays, props, and VM materials.
- Lead on-site VM installations and store setups, including activities conducted outside standard boutique operating hours.
- Manage VM tools, seasonal props, display materials, replacement orders, allocations, and related operational budgets.
- Monitor VM material inventory and ensure adequate availability for seasonal rotations and boutique requirements.
- Train and mentor Store VM Ambassadors and Sales Associates on visual standards, product presentation, display maintenance, and proper product handling.
- Conduct regular boutique visits and VM audits to evaluate store presentation and ensure compliance with brand guidelines.
- Provide corrective recommendations and coordinate necessary visual improvements or touch-ups at store level.
- Support periodic store visits to other cities, including Surabaya, for VM updates, installations, and presentation reviews.
- Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Retail Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure VM initiatives support both commercial objectives and luxury brand positioning.
- Prepare VM reports, implementation updates, and compliance documentation through designated company platforms.
- Monitor VM project timelines, vendor deliverables, and installation quality to ensure projects are completed according to required standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Visual Communication Design (DKV), Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Visual Merchandising, window display, store styling, or retail space presentation.
- Experience within luxury goods, premium fashion, accessories, footwear, or other high-end retail environments is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of luxury retail visual standards, product presentation, lighting, spatial planning, store styling, and display techniques.
- Experience handling window installations, seasonal VM changes, retail activations, or store setup projects.
- Strong proficiency in design and visualization tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or equivalent software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong project management, organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Experience coordinating and negotiating with external vendors, contractors, fabricators, and installation teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with Retail, Marketing, Merchandising, and Store Operations teams.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong sensitivity to aesthetics, brand consistency, and luxury presentation standards.
- Fluent written and spoken English for interpreting global VM guidelines and communicating with regional or international stakeholders.
- Willingness to conduct frequent boutique visits and travel for store-related assignments.
- Flexible and willing to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or outside standard operating hours when required for installations and store setups.
