Client Overview Our client is a fast-growing Indonesian manufacturing and commercial group operating across electrical equipment, consumer lighting, electronic appliances, and industrial technology. The group has evolved from an electronic trading and distribution business into a multi-site manufacturing organization serving the growing domestic market. With multiple operating entities, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and a workforce of more than 1,000 employees, the organization is continuing to expand its operational and commercial footprint. As the business grows, the group is strengthening its finance and accounting infrastructure, internal controls, and reporting processes to support increasingly complex multi-entity operations.
Job Role The FAT Assistant Manager will serve as a key operational member of the accounting function, supporting the Head of Accounting in managing day-to-day financial accounting, tax operations, AR/AP governance, inventory reconciliation, and financial controls across the group. The role will supervise junior accounting, AR/AP, and tax personnel while ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounting transactions, monthly closing, tax reporting, cash and bank reconciliation, and supporting financial reports. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting and tax professional with strong all-rounder capabilities who can maintain high levels of accuracy and control while effectively supervising an operational finance team in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily accounting transactions, journal entries, journal vouchers, and general ledger activities across group entities.
- Review bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Coordinate monthly financial closing activities and prepare Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Trial Balance, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare draft multi-entity consolidation worksheets and supporting financial information for review by the Head of Accounting.
- Monitor accounting adjustments and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.
- Manage monthly tax operational processes, including PPN, e-Faktur, PPh 21, PPh 23, PPh 25, PPh 4(2), and relevant tax reporting.
- Reconcile input and output e-Faktur and ensure tax documentation is complete and properly recorded.
- Support preparation of annual corporate tax return documentation and respond to tax audit or tax authority inquiries under the direction of the Head of Accounting.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable aging, collection status, and customer balances.
- Oversee Accounts Payable schedules, vendor payment documentation, and payment due dates.
- Monitor daily cash and bank balances and perform relevant cash flow and bank verification activities.
- Conduct inventory accounting reviews, stock-take reconciliations, and COGS verification across warehouses and distribution locations.
- Review inventory costing and identify discrepancies between accounting records and physical inventory.
- Support cost control and financial analysis related to inventory, purchasing, and operational expenses.
- Supervise, guide, and review the work of junior accountants, AR/AP officers, and tax staff.
- Ensure operational finance teams follow established accounting procedures, approval matrices, petty cash limits, and documentation requirements.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and identify potential accounting, tax, cash management, and documentation risks.
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, operations, and other departments to resolve accounting and financial discrepancies.
- Prepare accounting, tax, AR/AP, inventory, and financial reports for management review.
- Support the Head of Accounting in improving accounting processes, systems, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a reputable university.
- Brevet A/B certification is a strong advantage.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in accounting and tax, with at least 2 years in a Senior Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, FAT Assistant Manager, or equivalent role.
- Experience in Consumer Electronics, Electrical Products, FMCG, Trading & Distribution, Retail, or Manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
- Experience handling accounting operations across multiple legal entities or business units is an advantage.
- Proven hands-on knowledge across General Ledger, AR/AP, Inventory Accounting, Tax Compliance, Financial Closing, and Financial Statements.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax operations, including PPN, PPh, e-Faktur, and relevant tax reporting requirements.
- Strong understanding of inventory reconciliation, COGS, cost accounting, and financial controls.
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems such as Accurate, SAP, MAS, or comparable platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial analysis, reconciliation, reporting, and data management.
- Experience supervising and developing junior accounting, tax, or finance personnel.
- Proven experience working within family-owned local Chinese companies, privately held commercial groups, or Chinese-invested companies in Indonesia is strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, accuracy, and financial discipline.
- Firm and consistent in enforcing accounting procedures and internal financial controls.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
- Fluent business English proficiency, both written and spoken.
