Your tasks
Scope of Accountability & Priorities
- Build desktop application features so users can install and use working features on supported operating systems.
- Integrate APIs and local system capabilities so application features communicate reliably with backend services and access necessary desktop functionality securely.
- Optimize application performance so applications launch efficiently, remain responsive, and use system resources appropriately.
- Troubleshoot production issues so crashes, compatibility problems, and performance issues are diagnosed and resolved.
- Handle application releases so tested application builds are packaged and distributed successfully.
- Maintain application updates so users receive application improvements and fixes through a reliable update process.
- Implement tests and security practices so critical functionality remains reliable, and sensitive application data is protected.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams so product requirements become working features, with clear technical decisions and manageable trade-offs.

- Minimum 5 years of software development experience, including hands-on experience building and shipping a desktop application using either Tauri, Electron, or Wails.
- Able to take an application from development to an installable release, including architecture, testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Comfortable building application functionality with modern frontend technologies such as React, Vue, or equivalent.
- Experience connecting application interfaces with backend APIs and operating system capabilities, such as file access, local storage, background processes, and notifications.
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve application crashes, slow startup, excessive memory consumption, or operating system compatibility issues.
- Understands how desktop applications are packaged, distributed, updated, and maintained after release.
What We Are Not Looking For
- Engineers who only build websites or web applications without delivering production desktop applications.
- Developers who can build demos or proof-of-concepts but have not taken desktop applications through production deployment.
- Engineers who focus exclusively on user interfaces without hands-on experience in desktop functionality, system integration, or application releases.
- Senior engineers who primarily design systems, review code, or delegate implementation rather than actively building and delivering software.
- Developers whose involvement ends when a feature works locally, without ownership of testing, deployment, troubleshooting, or maintenance.
- Candidates who can explain frameworks, design patterns, and technical concepts but cannot demonstrate how they personally solved real production problems.
