Public Relation Manager
PR Manager We are looking for an experienced PR Manager to strengthen our corporate reputation, build meaningful relationships with the media, and manage external communications across Indonesia. This role requires strong traditional PR fundamentals, an established understanding of the Indonesian media landscape, and the judgment to navigate reputational, regulatory, and public-facing issues. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, journalists, and management to ensure our communications are consistent, credible, and effective.
You Will PR Strategy & Reputation
- Develop and execute PR and communications strategies that strengthen the company's reputation, build positive public perception, and support broader business and external affairs objectives.
- Develop compelling corporate narratives, key messages, and story angles that communicate the company's positioning effectively to external audiences.
- Proactively identify PR opportunities, emerging narratives, and reputational risks, and recommend appropriate communication actions.
Media Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with national and local journalists, editors, and relevant media stakeholders across business, technology, gaming, entertainment, lifestyle, and general news.
- Lead end-to-end media relations activities, including press releases, media statements, press conferences, interviews, editorial visits, media gatherings, and media inquiries.
- Proactively pitch relevant stories and secure credible, high-quality media coverage that supports the company’s reputation and communication objectives.
- Prepare company spokespersons and senior management for external engagements, including media briefings, talking points, Q&A documents, interview preparation, and key-message alignment.
Issues & Crisis Communications
- Monitor emerging issues, public sentiment, media narratives, and reputational risks that may affect the company.
- Assess sensitive issues and develop appropriate communication responses, holding statements, Q&A, key messages, and escalation recommendations.
- Support crisis and issues communications, working closely with management and relevant internal stakeholders to ensure responses are timely, accurate, and aligned.
Media Monitoring, Analysis & Reporting
- Manage and continuously improve the company's media monitoring and automation system, ensuring relevant coverage, sentiment, emerging narratives, and potential risks are properly captured.
- Prepare a weekly media intelligence brief for management, covering key media coverage, sentiment, emerging issues, industry and competitor developments, potential risks, and recommended actions.
- Track and evaluate PR performance through relevant metrics, including media coverage, media quality, sentiment, share of voice, message penetration, and campaign outcomes.
PR Operations & External Partners
- Develop and maintain high-quality PR materials, including press releases, media statements, company backgrounders, fact sheets, talking points, spokesperson briefs, and media Q&A documents.
- Manage PR agencies, media monitoring vendors, external PR partners, and third-party advocates, ensuring clear deliverables, timelines, quality standards, and measurable results.
- Maintain and continuously improve PR infrastructure, including media databases, monitoring processes, reporting dashboards, communication SOPs, and crisis-response workflows.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Social Media, Community, Legal, Government Relations/Public Affairs, Business, and Management to ensure consistent external communications.
- Support company events and external engagements, including media invitations, journalist coordination, spokesperson preparation, on-site media handling, and post-event follow-up.
- Stay informed about developments across the gaming, technology, entertainment, digital-platform, policy, and regulatory landscape that may affect the company or its reputation.
You Must Have
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or Media Relations, with strong traditional PR fundamentals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or another relevant field.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with an established network of journalists and media contacts in Indonesia.
- Strong understanding of the Indonesian media landscape and how journalists, editors, and newsrooms operate.
- Demonstrated experience in media relations, corporate reputation, issues management, and crisis communications.
- Proven ability to independently develop press releases, media statements, talking points, Q&A documents, spokesperson briefs, and other external communication materials.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia, with working proficiency in English.
- Strong critical thinking and judgment, particularly when navigating sensitive issues, reputational risks, senior stakeholders, and high-pressure situations.
- Experience preparing and supporting senior management or company spokespersons for media interviews and public engagements.
- Strong project-management and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, media requests, events, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Experience managing PR agencies, media monitoring vendors, external partners, or third-party advocates.
- A data-oriented approach to PR, with the ability to analyze media coverage, sentiment, emerging issues, and overall PR performance.
- Strong interest in the gaming and entertainment industry, combined with awareness of Indonesia’s digital, policy, and regulatory environment.
- A builder mindset with the initiative to improve PR systems, processes, reporting, and ways of working as the organization grows.
- Willingness to support media events, urgent communications, and crisis situations outside regular working hours when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in gaming, technology, digital platforms, entertainment, fintech, or other consumer-facing industries.
- Existing media relationships across technology, business, gaming, entertainment, public policy, and national news.
- Experience handling high-profile or sensitive corporate issues, particularly those involving regulators, government stakeholders, or significant public attention.
- Experience working in a regional or multinational organization and coordinating with overseas stakeholders.
- Mandarin proficiency is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Experience building or improving media monitoring systems, PR dashboards, media databases, SOPs, or crisis communication processes.
- Candidates who can provide a portfolio or examples of previous PR work, including media campaigns, press releases, media coverage, or issues/crisis communication cases, will be preferred.
