Production and Operations Supervisor

We are seeking a passionate, hands-on Production & Operations Supervisor to join Birufinery in sustainably innovating in the blue-green economy by managing the end-to-end manufacturing operations of our seaweed biostimulant production, from raw materials to finished products and shipment. Job Description:

• Oversee day-to-day production, from raw material preparation, processing, fermentation, QC, packing, inventory & shipment.
• Plan & coordinate production schedules to ensure products are manufactured on time, at the required quality & quantity.
• Supervise production operators and ensure adherence to SOPs & quality standards.
• Monitor fermentation and production processes, identify operational issues, and coordinate troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Conduct & coordinate QC checks throughout the production process.
• Manage inventory, including stock monitoring and production-related documentation.
• Coordinate procurement of raw & packaging materials, ensuring availability, appropriate quality, & cost efficiency.
• Coordinate packing, warehousing, & shipment with logistics partners & customers.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, inventory, procurement, & shipment records.
• Develop and improve production SOPs, workflows, & inventory systems to improve efficiency & support scaling-up.
• Monitor costs, material usage, waste, productivity, & identify potential improvement.
• Coordinate with R&D, Sales, & Finance to align production & inventory with demand.

Qualifications:

• S1 in Food Tech, Biotech, Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in production, manufacturing, QC, or operations. Experience in food, agriculture, biotech, fermentation, fertilizer, or related industries is a plus.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced startup environment and taking ownership across multiple operational functions.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and coordinate effectively with suppliers, production teams, logistics partners, and internal teams.
• Willing to work on-site at the production facility and occasionally travel if required.
• Strong Excel/Sheets skills & comfortable working with production and inventory data.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
