Remuneration: NGN200,000 - NGN300,000 (3-months probationary period)
Role Description The Business Development & Tendering Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Port Harcourt, responsible for driving growth through strategic bid management and client development. This role oversees the end-to-end tendering process, including opportunity scanning, bid/no-bid decisions, proposal planning, content development, compliance checks, and post-submission follow-up. The manager coordinates with technical and project teams to translate complex requirements into clear, competitive proposals and supports negotiation and contracting activities with clients and partners. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining a robust business development pipeline, preparing presentations and pitch materials, managing tender documentation, and tracking bid performance metrics. The role also involves nurturing client relationships, attending industry events, and providing input into service offerings and pricing strategies to enhance market positioning.
Qualifications
Strong business development, client relationship management, and account management skills, with experience building and maintaining a sustainable opportunity pipeline. Proven expertise in bid and tender management, including opportunity identification, proposal writing, compliance structuring (NCDMB, OGISP & other regulators), and tender submission coordination. Solid project management capabilities, such as planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and risk assessment, especially in consulting or project-based environments. Analytical and strategic thinking skills, including market research, competitive analysis, financial evaluation of bids, and development of winning strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, persuasive proposals, presentations, and reports for diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational and documentation skills, including familiarity with structured processes, SOPs, and governance frameworks; ISO-related experience is an advantage. Proficiency in productivity and collaboration tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, document management software). NIPEX, SAP ARIBA & other procurement platforms. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Project Management, or a related field; a relevant postgraduate degree or professional certification is an added advantage. Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and manage multiple concurrent bids. Experience in consulting, construction, engineering, energy, or related project-driven sectors is highly beneficial.
