Software Engineer (Python) – Planning & Optimization

What you will do as a Python Developer You will join a specialized team working on the integration of our workforce planning solution within myProtime. Together, you will continue to build an automatic calculation and optimization layer that translates complex planning rules into workable and efficient staff schedules for thousands of users. We work according to an agile mindset, with short feedback loops and a strong focus on quickly delivering value to our customers. Specifically: You develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Python.

You contribute to the further development of our calculation and optimization engine for workforce planning.

You translate complex business rules and planning constraints into scalable technical solutions.

You analyze complex functional and technical issues and optimize algorithms for performant and efficient planning results.

You ensure a smooth integration of new functionalities within the broader Protime platform.

You take ownership of features from analysis and design to production and actively contribute to thinking about architecture, performance, and scalability.

You monitor the quality and reliability of our solutions through testing, monitoring, and observability.

You work closely with Product and Engineering, propose ideas, and help to continuously improve our technology and development processes.

Your mindset and skills Must haves You have several years of experience as a Software Engineer.

Strong knowledge of Python.

Knowledge of algorithms and a strong interest in complex optimization and problem-solving issues.

Experience with API-development, preferably with FastAPI.

Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.

Knowledge of Git and modern CI/CD practices.

You take ownership and enjoy working within a team context.

You are analytically strong and solution-oriented.

You communicate fluently in English. Nice to haves Experience with optimization, planning, or scheduling software.

Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform, ...).

Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana.

Knowledge of .NET

Experience with AI-driven solutions.

What do we offer you? Gross salary: between € 4000 and € 5000 per month, depending on experience.
