Product Strategy Analyst (Planning)
About the company
At Protime, we help organizations across Europe manage time smarter and more meaningfully. With our Workforce Management solutions, we provide companies with the tools to work more efficiently, remain compliant, and leverage the full potential of their employees.
Our motto? Make time valuable. Our ambition? To become the number 1 in Workforce Management in Europe.
Your tasks
Within our established WFM solution, myProtime Planning is a new addition that is growing rapidly. We want to expand it further and position it more strongly in the market. To achieve this, we are looking for someone who wants to dive into the complexity of planning in Europe and help us make the right choices. In this way, you will contribute to the success of myProtime Planning for our customers. That is where you come in!
What do you do as a Business Analyst Planning? Your mission: Help Protime make strong, evidence-based product decisions for myProtime Planning by providing clarity, context, and evidence.
You primarily move within the problem space: how do organizations plan today, where do they get stuck, and what does legislation require in the various European countries? You bring structure to this and ensure that we tackle the right problems before we build solutions.
You never do this alone. Every day, you work together with Product Management, Portfolio Managers, Product Owners, UX, and engineering. Additionally, you actively seek dialogue with customers, sales, support, and legal. You are part of the Planning team and report to the Product Manager Planning.
Strategic Discovery
- You explore how organizations in Europe plan and what they need. Think of retail, where staffing follows the rush, or production and logistics, where companies operate 24/7 with fixed shift schedules.
- You delve into the labor rules that affect planning, such as rest periods, maximum working hours, allowances, and sector agreements, as well as GDPR and data ethics.
- You combine desk research with interviews, extracting what is scalable across countries and what is truly country-specific.
Problem Framing
- You translate scattered signals from customers, sales, consultants, and support into clear, testable problem statements for planning.
- You recognize which planning problem a customer actually has. Flexible staffing and shift work are different problems, each requiring its own approach.
- You define context, scope, users, assumptions, risks, and success criteria.
- You look for patterns across customers, sectors, and countries, so that we do not build for just one customer or one country.
Synthesis & Evidence-Based Decision Support
- You separate facts from hypotheses, and noise from real insights.
- You build and maintain the opportunity backlog of myProtime Planning, decision logs, and the rationale behind choices.
- You help set up light experiments and validations.
- With your analyses, you support the choices of Product Management and Portfolio Management regarding markets, priorities, and the roadmap of myProtime Planning, and help bring the product to market. Together with them and with sales, you make it clear for which customers and which planning problems our solution makes the difference.
Collaboration & Shaping
- You facilitate discovery workshops, such as journey mapping, story mapping, event storming, and opportunity mapping.
- You work together with Product Owners, architects, and engineers on coherent MVPs. Even when the Product Owner takes the lead in solution design, you remain at the table.
- Because planning and time registration are interconnected, you work closely with the Time & Attendance teams to ensure schedules, absences, and contracts align.
- Our other products, Strobbo and Checks, also touch upon the planning domain. You do not work on them yourself, but you actively share knowledge about planning across products so that we learn from each other.
Requirements
You and AI At Protime, we are building an agentic way of working, in which AI participates in research, brings information together, and builds context. You don't need to be an AI expert, but experience is a valuable asset. What we do ask: you believe that AI can be an accelerator for conducting research and creating the context that will allow everyone in the team to make better decisions later. And you are eager to help shape that.
Your skills and mindset to start at Protime We are looking for someone who flourishes in complexity and finds joy in bringing structure. A strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and excellent communication.
Experience
- At least 4 years of experience in Business Analysis, Product Discovery, or Service Design. Experience with planning, WFM, HR Tech, payroll, or other regulated environments is a plus.
- Demonstrable experience in framing complex problems and shaping MVPs with measurable results.
- Familiar with discovery techniques and product methodologies.
Mindset
- You feel comfortable in ambiguity and in diverse regulatory contexts.
- You are a systems thinker who frames the problem first instead of immediately jumping to solutions.
- You are a true team player: you influence without formal authority and communicate clearly with various stakeholders. English at C1/C2 level is required; Dutch is a plus.
- You are motivated to understand (or learn) planning and Workforce Management in Europe.

Other
Workforce Management encompasses everything related to working time: planning, registering, and correctly processing up to payroll. Planning is the first step in that: the right people, with the right skills, at the right time, in the right place. What is planned flows through to time registration and payroll, and therefore planning is a core piece of our WFM offering.
With us, you never "just have a day at the office." Every day brings new insights, challenges, and opportunities to help shape the future of Workforce Management in Europe.
