Business Systems Analyst - Insurance Product

Key Responsibilities: Analysis and Solutioning
Identifies business opportunities or solutions to complex business problems and helps determine the optimum project investment path for the enterprise including implementation of new business and technical system solutions
Understands the pros and cons and the corresponding impact of proposed solutions/changes for complex projects to the business systems
Consults with the business area on system-related issues and makes recommendations for better utilizing the available technology
User Story Development/Acceptance Criteria
Using a structured approach, works with key stakeholders to identify the business and technical system solutions that meet their needs and develops a comprehensive set of user stories with requirements and acceptance criteria necessary to create the desired sustainable “to be” business environment
Builds mockups of proposed changes that can be used by development staff to complete front end User Interface changes
Ensures that user stories are complete, consistent, concise, and unambiguous
Ensures that acceptance criteria are all encompassing including negative test cases, edge scenarios, and accounts for all integrations
Documents added functionality and new enhancements using workflow diagrams and process write ups to allow for simplified reference and more comprehensive understanding and specifications for complex system modifications as appropriate
Works with developers, product owners, managers and potentially those from other teams that have a stake or dependency in standard agile amigos sessions to review user stories and acceptance criteria to make sure they are complete and accurate
Efficiently creates system regression test plans that correlate to the acceptance criteria of the stories being deployed to confirm that no system will be impacted outside of what has been planned with the new or enhanced development release
Production Support:
Diagnoses and manages complex software defects and system anomalies to a successful resolution
Works with software developers to resolve complex problems and provides detailed diagnostic information
Consults with end-users concerning corrective actions as needed in a calm and professional manner
Level 3 support for customer and agent issues that require quick troubleshooting
Identifies bottlenecks and proposes solutions to allow for increased functionality on administrative sites that can be used by front end contact center representatives
Training:
Prepares end-user procedures and workflow story boards, and provides end-user training for complex new or changed system functionality as needed
Project Management:
Utilizes appropriate project tracking methodologies and database(s) to manage multiple projects through the project life cycle
Documents moderately complex project phases, provide regular status updates, and assists with creating effective release/implementation plans
Preferred/Desirable Skills 1-2 years of applicable work and/or technical experience
Bachelor’s degree in MIS or other related computer field will substitute for 3 years of work and/or technical experience

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Excellent presentation skills as well as general negotiation and meeting facilitation skills.
Working knowledge of storyboarding, functional specifications, use cases, activity diagrams, workflow diagrams, etc. is required
Basic understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design is required.
Experience as an Analyst involving web based applications and services
Knowledge of SQL, HTML, XML
Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities, resolve conflicts and be able to work well under pressure
Ability to work independently with team members (technical and non-technical) and customers to ensure needs and expectations are met in a timely and cost efficient manner
Possess a desire to learn new systems and process within Protective
