Head of AI Engineering

Protechly helps Australian businesses put AI into their everyday workflows- real production systems, not pilots. We're establishing our engineering hub in the Philippines and building a Claude-certified practice on the path to becoming an Anthropic Select Partner. You'll be our first hire here and the person who shapes everything that follows.

What you'll do

Own delivery for our client deployments: architecture, build, evaluation, and go-live

Recruit and lead a team of engineers and consultants over the next 6–9 months, and set the hiring bar

Design agentic and LLM-based systems using the Claude platform (API, Claude Code, MCP, tool use, RAG)

Define our engineering standards: evals, security, observability, and how we hand over to clients

Work directly with the founder and with the clients; represent us in technical conversations

Sit the Claude Certified Architect exam in your first 60 days (we fund it and give you the time)

What we're looking for

Software engineering, with leading teams or delivery for clients

Hands-on with LLM applications in production: prompt design, tool calling, retrieval, evaluation, cost and latency tuning

Strong Python and/or TypeScript; comfortable with cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP) and modern data stacks

Experience in consulting, systems integration, or a product company shipping to enterprise customers

Excellent written and spoken English; able to run a workshop with a client's leadership team

You've hired before and cared about who you bring in.

Nice to have: Anthropic or comparable AI certification.
