Description

What do they do?

Designs, implements, and maintains the company's telecommunications systems and assigned projects, including data networks, fiber optics, radio links, industrial Wi-Fi, LTE, CCTV, and communication systems in mines or plants.

How do they do it?

By applying engineering criteria and technical standards, using diagnostic tools and specialized software. Performs the configuration and documentation of systems, supervises field work, and coordinates with the Operations, Projects, and Support areas.

To guarantee operational continuity, reliability, and availability of telecommunications services in productive environments, contributing to the efficiency, safety, and correct execution of the company's and its clients' projects.

Functions and Responsibilities

• Review and analyze the initial documentation of projects (bases, plans, specifications, and contracts) to ensure understanding of technical and commercial scopes.
• Prepare and present the Bill of Materials (BOM) for projects, ensuring the correct definition of materials, quantities, and technical references.
• Prepare and maintain the updated Master Document List (MDL), controlling versions and documentary progress according to the schedule.
• Daily record of man-hours executed and project estimated engineering hours in the ERP.
• Prepare and follow up on Purchase Requests (SC) in the ERP, verifying consistency with the BOM and project requirements.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute technical visits during pre-sale, start, or development stages of the project.
• Prepare technical reports based on visits carried out in projects.
• Upload and maintain technical documentation in the virtual repositories defined by the area (SharePoint, OneDrive, TICA, etc.).
• Prepare and manage Request for Information (RFI) necessary to resolve technical queries or gaps.
• Develop conceptual, basic, and/or detailed engineering according to technical standards and client requirements.
• Generate As Built documentation that reflects the real installation and configuration conditions.
• Perform and document FAT, CAT, OAT, CC, QA, or mock-ups tests as required by the project.
• Comply with and promote quality, safety, and management processes, managing preventive or corrective actions when appropriate.
• Periodically inform the Engineering Leader and the Project Manager about engineering progress and deviations.
• Participate in technical meetings, training, and internal coordinations called by the leader.
• Review, validate, and technically approve assigned documentation, ensuring compliance with requirements and standards.
• Participate in all meetings and training sessions indicated by the leader.

SAFETY MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE

• Participate in training, weekly talks, incident investigations, committees, drills, and integrated system activities.
• Identify hazards, evaluate risks, and apply control measures in their work area.
• Report environmental incidents and accidents.
• Know the environmental aspects and impacts of their workplace, and in turn, know each of the environmental control measures of their area in charge.

Requirements

• Degree/Registered in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, or related careers.
• Desirable in Industrial Networks, Wireless Communications, Automation, or Project Management.
• Minimum 3 years in engineering, implementation, or maintenance of telecommunications systems. Experience in the mining sector in the requested position (Desirable).

Specific Knowledge

• Networks and Protocols: Solid knowledge in LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, PoE, QoS, and/or SNMP.
• Equipment and Platforms: Handling of Cisco, Aruba, Radwin, Cambium, or equivalent equipment.
• Measurement Systems: Use of tools such as OTDR, optical power meters, fusion splicers, and Fluke equipment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Visio, technical design, and documentation tools (as built).
• Familiarity with IEEE, TIA/EIA, ITU, ISO 9001, ISO 45001 standards, and/or industrial safety policies.
• Intermediate handling of ERP (SAP, Odoo, or similar) and Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
