Specialist SEND Tutor - Sefton

Location: Sefton Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: November 2026 Duration: Ongoing

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Specialist SEND Tutor to provide personalised educational support to pupils with additional needs. The successful candidate will be confident adapting their teaching approach to engage learners, develop essential skills and support positive educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored one-to-one tuition based on individual learning needs. Support pupils with complex needs and barriers to education. Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit different abilities. Encourage engagement, confidence and independence. Monitor progress and work towards individual learning targets.

Experience, Training and Qualifications: QTS or equivalent. UK classroom teaching experience. Experience working with pupils with complex needs and SEND. Experience supporting disengaged learners. A creative, patient and adaptable approach.

To be eligible, the Specialist SEND Tutor must: Hold the right to work in the UK. Hold an enhanced DBS including the child barred list, ideally on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain the required clearance. Provide two professional references, including child-related experience.
