Your tasks

About the role We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join a well-established Humanities department from September 2026. The successful candidate will teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students' historical knowledge, analytical skills, and confidence.
We're looking for a dedicated candidate to
- Plan and deliver engaging History lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
- Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and school leaders
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
The ideal candidate would have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for History
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- The ability to motivate and engage students
- High expectations of student achievement and conduct
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
