BSL SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support Secondary School | Greenwich | Immediate Start

Are you a passionate and experienced BSL Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in a supportive secondary school?

We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with BSL skills to provide 1:1 support to a secondary-aged student in a school based in Greenwich .

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students with additional needs and can use British Sign Language (BSL) confidently to facilitate communication, learning and inclusion within the classroom.

The Role

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a secondary-aged student with SEN.
• Use British Sign Language (BSL) to support communication and access to learning.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to ensure the student is fully supported throughout the school day.
• Help the student engage with lessons, develop independence and access the wider school environment.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the student while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
• Support the student both academically and socially, adapting your approach to meet their individual needs.

Essential Requirements

• BSL Level 2 qualification - non-negotiable.
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting students on a 1:1 basis would be advantageous.
• A valid DBS on the Update Service is required .
• Excellent communication, patience and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine commitment to supporting the student's educational and personal development.
