Interpret customer testing requirements and translate them into clear internal work instructions, ensuring alignment with quotations, specifications, drawings and applicable standards.
Review testing requirements and provide technical input for the preparation and confirmation of quotations, sales orders and work orders.
Liaise with customers to clarify testing requirements, sample preparation, applicable test methods, specifications and expected turnaround times.
Coordinate with the Workshop and Testing Departments on sample preparation, job scheduling, testing priorities and readiness of specimens.
Monitor job progress and follow up with relevant departments to support timely completion of testing activities.
Respond to customer and internal queries relating to job requirements and testing arrangements.
Develop technical knowledge of materials, testing standards and laboratory processes to provide appropriate technical guidance to customers and internal teams.
Support continuous improvement of work processes, SOPs and coordination practices.
For experienced candidates, provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to junior team members where appropriate.
Perform other related technical and coordination duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; relevant experience in materials testing, laboratory, inspection or related industries will be advantageous.
Knowledge of metallic materials, material specifications or welding processes is an advantage.
Exposure to an ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory environment is an advantage.
Good communication, coordination and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented, organised and willing to learn.
CWI, CSWIP 3.1, PCN Level 2 or other relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
