Your tasks

We are now seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) for a consulting assignment with our client in the high-tech industry. The client is in a period of strong growth and needs to strengthen its organization with a senior consultant who can contribute deep expertise in supplier quality and supplier development.

About the assignment As a Supplier Quality Manager, you will play a central role in the work of ensuring the quality of suppliers, purchased products, and subsystems. You will work closely with purchasing, production, quality, and suppliers to ensure that quality requirements are met and that continuous improvements are implemented.

Your main tasks include

• Ensuring the implementation of the client's purchasing strategy, purchasing policy, and associated routines.
• Quality assuring purchased items, materials, and subsystems.
• Participating in and preparing purchasing and control reports as needed.
• Conducting audits of suppliers and products on-site at suppliers.
• Monitoring suppliers' quality performance and driving corrective actions when set goals are not achieved.
• Driving improvement programs together with suppliers.
• Handling complaints regarding materials that do not meet specifications and reviewing suppliers' complaint responses.
• Managing deviations reported from production in close cooperation with production quality.
• Supporting less experienced colleagues and acting as a mentor in the field when necessary.
• Travel is a natural part of the assignment and takes place primarily within Sweden and Europe.

Requirements

This is an assignment for you who have solid experience in quality work, supplier development, and improvement work, and who thrive in an organization with high demands for quality, collaboration, and results.

To be eligible for the assignment, we see that you have:

• At least 5 years of experience in supplier quality, supplier development, or related quality roles.
• Solid experience in classic quality work.
• Experience in production quality and/or supplier quality.
• Practical experience with established quality tools and quality methods.
• Knowledge and experience of LEAN, Six Sigma, PPAP, and MSA.
• Good ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience in metrology.
• Relevant university/college education or equivalent work experience.
• Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
• Good collaborative skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to drive improvement work and create good relationships with suppliers.
