Your tasks

About the position As a Process Engineer, you will work with cutting manufacturing from a tooling perspective. You will be responsible for your own toolset and will over time build up deep specialist knowledge within your area. The role is operationally close and varied, with a combination of problem-solving in production, improvement work, and development of tools, as well as participation in larger projects. You will collaborate closely with production and other technical functions, but also with external tool suppliers when new solutions need to be developed or existing ones improved.

In the role, you will among other things

  • support production and solve challenges related to tools and cutting machining
  • analyze tool performance and work with process improvements
  • work together with, among others, NC-programmers, preparers, production, and quality
  • participate in design changes by contributing knowledge regarding what works from a manufacturing perspective
  • participate in quality and improvement work when challenges or new needs arise
  • contribute your specialist knowledge in projects and during changes in production

Part of the work also takes place in larger procurement projects. This may, for example, involve the introduction of a new machine, the need to expand production capacity, or a component change requiring new tools. Here, you are responsible for your own technical area and work together with, for example, project management, production, suppliers, and measurement technicians. You follow your area from technical solution and tool selection through commissioning and follow-up until the solution functions in production.

The role is therefore about both solving what is happening here and now and developing how production should function moving forward.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

  • Several years of experience in cutting machining.
  • Understanding of NC-programming and CAM preparation
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation and drawings in CAD
  • Swedish and English in speech and writing.
  • B-driver's license.

You thrive close to production and enjoy solving technical challenges together with others. You are curious, listen to the operations, and can explain your thoughts to people with different competencies. You take responsibility for your area and drive the work forward, and because you will handle both daily production issues and more long-term projects, you need to be able to plan, structure, and prioritize your work.
