Job Description
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a research associate starting 01.10.2026 for the Chair of Medical Biometry and Epidemiology at the Department of Human Medicine. The position is to be filled part-time with 20 hours per week, limited to 6 months.
The research focuses of the chair consist of multi-stage models for describing the epidemiology of chronic diseases. Own research focuses can be introduced. We offer an inspiring working environment for research at an international level.
Your Tasks
- Programming and collaboration in the area of modeling case numbers, diagnostic criteria, and epidemiological indicators in chronic diseases and their complications
- Development and programming of simulations of epidemiological studies as well as evaluation of the simulation runs
- Collaboration in research and teaching at the Chair of Medical Biometry and Epidemiology
Your Profile
- You have a university degree or a comparable qualification
- Several years of scientific qualification and research experience after the doctorate, preferably in the fields of Public Health, clinical research, or epidemiology.
- Sound scientific background in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and preventive medicine, as well as a strong interest in the research of chronic diseases.
- Very good and application-oriented knowledge in R for data management as well as for epidemiological and statistical analyses.
- Sound experience in the preparation, management, and analysis of population-related data, registry data, cohort data, and routine data.
- Proven experience in the independent management and coordination of scientific projects, including study design, task planning, coordination of co-authors, and quality assurance of scientific results.
- Very good scientific publication performance with publications in international, peer-reviewed journals, especially as first author, senior author, or corresponding author.
- Experience in the development and submission of scientific third-party funding and grant applications.
- Very good, business-fluent English skills; German skills at B1 level are desirable.
