Call Screening Agent
Your tasks
Summary Start with a candidate who has applied and needs a clear first conversation. You receive candidate lists and use short phone calls to check basic fit. You ask approved questions, note answers, and help suitable candidates reach a recruiter interview. A recruiting team lead guides your work and helps with questions outside your call outline. This position is fully remote, so you can work from home. Your goal is a clear path from first contact to a correctly booked interview. The role pays a monthly base salary plus bonus opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
- Review the basic screening questions before opening your candidate list in an applicant tracking system such as Lever. Plan your call order.
- Call candidates using a business phone system or dialer such as Dialpad. Introduce yourself calmly and explain why you are calling.
- Ask about interest, availability, a quiet workspace, and spoken English. Follow the question outline and write down answers without making assumptions.
- Explain the next step in simple words. Use the recruiter's rules to mark candidates as ready, not now, or not a fit.
- Book ready candidates with a recruiter using a scheduling and calendar tool such as Calendly. Confirm the interview date and time.
- Send a short interview reminder through the approved process. Call candidates after missed interviews and help arrange another time when appropriate.
- Record each call result, screening answers, and next action in the tracking system. Keep each candidate's stage current after every conversation.
- Share completed screening notes with the recruiter before the interview. Make unanswered questions easy to find so the recruiter can prepare.
- Answer simple candidate questions using approved information. Send questions outside that information to the recruiting team lead rather than guessing answers.
- Mark wrong numbers, duplicate entries, and withdrawals clearly. Keep candidate information private and treat each person politely throughout the screening process.
- Meet quality standards through accurate notes, polite calls, correct bookings, and quick follow-up. Use feedback to improve the next candidate's experience.
Requirements
- Professional spoken and written English, because calls are generally with candidates and teams in the United States.
- A computer, a mobile phone, a stable internet connection, and reliable electricity.
- No recruiting experience required. Related phone, customer service, scheduling, or administrative experience is preferred.
- A calm, friendly phone voice and the ability to explain each next step clearly.
- Willingness to learn the named tracking, phone, and calendar tools through guided practice.
- Ability to follow basic screening questions and apply the recruiter's stated criteria consistently.
- Care with written answers, candidate stages, interview dates, and times when updating entries.
- Respect for candidate privacy and readiness to use only approved information when answering questions.
- Ability to listen without interrupting, confirm understanding, and ask the team lead for guidance.
