The tasks of the Deputy Store Manager You will be a strategic leader in the store – driving results, managing teams, and ensuring operational excellence in key areas of the business. Your tasks include: Supporting the implementation of the long-term business strategy – in alignment with Primark's business goals and the highest customer service standards. Making key decisions in the store – with real impact on operations. Leading and developing the team of managers and sales assistants – by prioritizing commitment, results, and collaboration. Driving business results – through strategic planning, data analysis, and a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics. Directing daily operations – ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant operation of the store in every department. Collaborating with the People & Culture (HR) team – including recruitment, onboarding, and development, together with the Store Manager and the People & Culture team. Monitoring market trends and competitor activity – identifying opportunities and risks for the store. Managing stock and resources – optimizing costs and ensuring product availability. Supporting local brand-building initiatives – as well as participating in international projects that serve Primark's growth.
You fit with us if: You have several years of experience in a leadership position in retail – ideally as a regional/area manager in a large, dynamic environment or as a store manager in a flagship store. You know how to lead and inspire large teams – both managers and sales assistants, to achieve common goals. You combine a commercial mindset with a practical approach – you understand what drives results and are able to turn conclusions into action. You possess excellent interpersonal skills – you easily build relationships and inspire others, building a positive work culture. You thrive in a dynamic environment – you are proactive, solution-oriented, and open to change. You have strong planning and organizational skills and are able to meet deadlines.
